Privacy policy
Effective date: 16 October 2026
This policy covers Modern Scriber (modernscriber.com), one of the websites that the operator of this website ("we") runs with Il Bravo, its publishing system. It explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have.
For readers
What we measure. To learn which articles are useful, this site counts page views, time spent reading, how far readers get through an article, which site or search engine sent them, and links they follow. With each visit we record the page, the referring site, the country (from the network, not from precise location), and the type of device and browser.
What we do not collect. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share information about readers. We do not store IP addresses: to count unique visitors, the address and browser are combined into a one-way code that changes every day and cannot be reversed.
Returning readers. Outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, this site keeps a random identifier in your browser's local storage so that we can tell when a reader comes back. It contains nothing about you, is not a cookie, is not shared with anyone, and is discarded after 30 days without a visit. In the EU, EEA and UK we do not store it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's data for this site.
Your signals are respected. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not store the returning-reader identifier or a daily visitor code.
Ads. Some articles may be promoted with Google search ads. If you arrive from one, we record that the visit came from an ad campaign, so we can tell whether the ad brought readers who found the article useful. Google's handling of ad clicks is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Retention. Individual visit records are kept for up to 3 months in our analytics store (Cloudflare) and are reduced every day to totals that contain no information about individual readers; only the totals are kept after that.
Google user data
Il Bravo is a private tool used only by the operator of this website to manage its own websites and its own Google accounts. When the owner connects a Google account, Il Bravo accesses the following Google user data, for these purposes only:
| Google service | Data accessed | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Search Console | The owner's verified sites, sitemap status, and search performance for those sites (queries, clicks, impressions, positions) | To verify the owner's sites, submit their sitemaps, and see which articles people search for |
| Site Verification | Verification tokens for the owner's sites | To prove ownership of new sites in Search Console |
| Google Ads | The owner's ad account, and the campaigns, budgets, keywords, ads and results that Il Bravo creates | To promote the owner's articles within limits the owner sets, and to judge each campaign by whether readers read the article |
How it is stored. Google sign-in tokens are stored encrypted. The data above is stored in our hosting provider's (Cloudflare) databases, and is used only to run and improve the owner's own websites.
Sharing. We do not sell Google user data and do not share it for advertising. We do not use it for advertising profiles, and we do not use it to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models. Two uses involve automated systems, both only for the owner's own websites:
- AI agents that write and improve our articles (models from Anthropic and OpenAI, called through their APIs) may read
the owner's site performance figures through Il Bravo, solely to decide what to write or improve on those sites.
- The figures are recorded with the changes made to the sites, so that Il Bravo can learn which changes help readers and
make better decisions for the owner's sites.
Limited Use. Il Bravo's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion. Search and ad performance figures are kept while the owner uses Il Bravo, so that results can be compared over time. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google account's third-party access page, after which no further Google data is accessed. To have stored data deleted, contact us at the address below.
